The Brief

Develop an interactive and engaging Channel 7 zone at Queensland’s largest and most iconic event EKKA, August 5 – 14 2016. Our brief was to engage with the 400,000 visitors and take Channel 7’s media partnership to the next level.

The Solution

GetJackD! Media developed a content lead event activation, 7Live Studios, creating several unique fan experiences integrating Channel 7 program priorities; 7News Queensland, Zumbo’s Just Desserts and the 2016 RIO Olympics. GetJackD! Media managed the event in its entirety, overseeing a team of 12 promotional staff, MC’s and production, over 10 suppliers and acted as on-site publicists for Channel 7 talent in the space twice a day. Talent from Zumbo’s Just Desserts, Home & Away, House Rules, 7News Queensland, The Chase Australia, Commonwealth Games and Better Homes and Gardens featured.

Tens of the thousands of people entered the activation space across Ekka, with over 7,000 show-bags handed out, 7,253 7News fan videos, Zumbo’s Just Desserts GIFs and SMS lolly guesses created.
